Bath Safety

Your bathroom can be a dangerous place.

Accidents can occur  anywhere around your home. But your bathroom is one of the most dangerous rooms in the house. Some of the most common dangers include:

# Electricity
   * Keep everything electric away from bath water, sinks and toilets.
   *Put away anything electric after use.
   * Don't use any kind of electric appliance while standing in water or even on a wet floor.
   * Never touch an electric appliance with wet hands. Dry your hands completely first.

# Water
   *Never leave young children alone in the bathroom. A child can drown in a few seconds in just a few inches of water.
   *Always stay within arm's reach of a child in a bathtub.

#Falls
   *Use non-slip mats around the bathtub and shower.
   *Install a bar to hold onto by the tub or shower and near the toilet.

#Poisons
   *Children are curious and will eat or drink brightly colored or interesting-looking things. Keep medicine and cleaning supplies in a safe place away from children.

With just a few changes, you can make your bathroom the safest room in the house.
